Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said that in this session, seven meetings of the House were held which lasted for about 34 hours and its work productivity was about 103 percent.
The Lok Sabha speaker said that the discussion on the motion of thanks lasted for 18 hours. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (July 2) fiercely attacked the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. He used words like childish intelligence for him. PM Modi accused the Congress leader of linking Hindus with violence in the Lok Sabha, making false claims and called for strict action against him to protect parliamentary democracy. In the Rajya Sabha, many opposition parties discussed the increasing number of cases of question paper leaks in different examinations in the country, discrimination against the states and the issue of using central investigation agencies as weapons against the opposition. Mohammad Nadimul Haque of the Trinamool Congress said that one word is missing in President Draupadi Murmu's address and that word is 'alliance'. Opposition MPs put forth their views on the President's address, but during this time they also targeted the government.
