Some people say that Om Birla's model daughter suddenly appeared for the IAS exam and was successful in the first attempt. Anjali passed the civil service examination in the year 2019. She succeeded in the first attempt and is currently working as an IAS officer in the Ministry of Railways.
Passed UPSC exam in the first attempt
Anjali Birla joined the Union Public Service Commission (Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC)) exam, the results of which were declared in 2020 and she was posted in 2021. The Department of Personnel and Training had released a reserve list in 2020, which had 89 candidates from General, OBC, EWS and SC categories. Anjali Birla's name was also in it.
Where did Anjali Birla study from?
Anjali received her primary education in Kota, Rajasthan. She completed her 12th from Kota's Sophia Girls College. After this, she graduated from Delhi's Ramjas College and then started preparing for the Indian Administrative Service. Anjali Birla credits her father and elder sister Akanksha Birla for becoming an IAS officer. She says that both of them supported her and Om Birla wanted Anjali Birla to make a career in the civil service.
Questions were raised on becoming an IAS officer
Even during Anjali Birla's posting in the year 2021, people on social media had raised questions about her success. Some even said that she had a backhand entry and without giving any exam, she became an IAS officer in the first attempt itself. Some also said that she benefited from her father's high position. On these questions, Anjali Birla said that this is the most transparent examination in the country and questions should not be raised on such a respectable institution.
He said that the civil service examination is held in three stages and it takes about a year. To become an IAS officer, it is necessary to pass all three exams. He said that this entire process is very transparent and there is no scope for backhand entry.
