Defamation case filed by current Delhi LG VK Saxena against social activist Medha Patkar in 2001. Saket Court sentenced Medha Patkar to 5 months imprisonment in the defamation case. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh on Medha Patkar and directed her to pay the fine amount to VK Saxena.
The court rejected the argument of age, the court said that this case went on for 25 years. Medha Patkar filed a bail plea in the court. The court suspended Patkar's sentence for 30 days.
