Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding a parliamentary debate on the NEET controversy. The opposition leader stressed the need to protect the interests of “24 lakh NEET candidates who deserve answers” and urged the Prime Minister to lead this debate.
The Rae Bareli MP wrote, “The NEET exam needs urgent attention as it has exposed the deep rot in our higher education system. Over 70 papers have been leaked in the last seven years, affecting over 2 crore students. The government's move to postpone other exams and replace the Director General of the National Testing Agency is a move to hide the systemic failure of our centralised testing system.”
